The HollyB was built in Washington State in 1941.  She started out in San Pedro a few years after as a Charter Diving and Fishing Boat.
Frank Hall gave me these pictures of the HollyB from 1978 when he rebuilt the rear 1/2 of the boat while the vessel was in the water.

I admire Frank's skills as a shipwright and I tip my hat to him for his ingenuity for modifying and rebuilding a 50' fishing vessel in the water.

The rear half of the boat was gutted and all the bad wood removed while the boat was in the water..
Frank accomplished this by putting drums of water on the bow to lift the stern of the boat..
Notice the wet exhaust hose, Frank converted it to dry exhaust...
The HollyB is powered by a single 671 Detroit Diesel...

Overall shot of the gutted boat
Sword fish Tower w/Remote Steering and Swordfish Plank out the bow..
In the Background on the right is the original office for 22nd Street Landing..

New Ribs in Place, New Stern in Place...

New Planks clamped and New stern tied off..

Overall shot of new ribs, stern in place...
Frank's other boat the SharpShooter in the Rear Left...
